Jemma Slevin FOUNDER

Jemma spent her early years in Zimbabwe and was then raised in the garden of England, Kent. After studying Anthropology at Manchester University she lived in London and began a career in fashion and publishing that included working for companies such as Conde Nast, Louis Vuitton, Mango and her own underwear business!

She then moved, with her future Irish/ Venezuelan husband to Barcelona where they welcomed their first child, a daughter. A six year stint brought them back to the UK where they lived in Windsor, it was here that she spotted a niche and started The Little Book.

After three more children, all boys, they had the opportunity to return to Barcelona, and with it the chance to fulfil their dream of raising bilingual children and enjoying the outdoor life along with opportunities to travel within Europe.

She loves cooking, DIY, and more recently, paddle boarding! Homemaking is her passion along with looking for the next adventure with her brood!

As well as running popular parenting workshops, coaching parents on a 1-2-1 basis, and working with schools on positive discipline for the past 7 years, Josie is also a Montessori teacher, with over ten years of experience in the Montessori approach.  Truly passionate about empowering parents to be the best parent they can be, over the years Josie has helped hundreds of families to implement a practical positive parenting approach, to cut out the trial and error phases and connect more deeply with their children.

Josie lives in Windsor with her husband and 3 children.  Having 3 children under 8 Josie understands the complex pressures of parenting and this has driven her love for what she does. Through using positive discipline with her own children, she has developed a deep connection with her kids.  This connection and being able to understand her children drove her to want to share these methods with other parents – although she admits that she is not the perfect parent and nor are her children always perfectly behaved!
